In the sphere is a light, a candle light. A ship, the Santa Maria is within the figure of Columbus as a boy. The title of the painting: "I Saw a Light, Like a Little wax Candle, An hour, Before The Moon, At Ten" This is an insert from the Captains log book October 11th, 1492.
